If you’ve been here before you will notice the new fresh look of the website which reflects the rebranding of Avon Valley Choral Society to our new name of Avon Valley Singers.
We hope you like the new approach and will be tempted to come to our next concert which will be a performance of “The Crucifixion” by John Stainer first performed in Marylebone Parish Church in 1887.
The work is in 20 short movements and lasts for about an hour although well received at its premier but was later criticised for the sentimental libretto and music. However it has many admirers and continues to be performed during holy week and recorded more than 130 years after it was written.
Our performance takes place at 6.30 pm on 4th April at Amesbury Methodist Church. Entrance is free with a retiring collection.
